When Jessica first called me, she and Jamel were traveling all over Europe while Jamal was coaching a professional men’s football team (So exciting!) She then told me their story.
They met at University of Maine where Jamel was playing for the University of Maine Black Bears. Being the college football geek that I am, I looked him up and saw some pretty impressive stats. Originally from New Jersey, Jamal told me how he and Jess would head to Bar Harbor to hike and camp during the school year. It was a place that was always special to Jessica, and Jamal fell in love with the beautiful mountains and the seaside town.
They had chosen the Stone House at the Bar Harbor Regency for their wedding day. They both wanted to showcase the nature and beauty of Bar Harbor to their family and friends who would all be traveling here.
The ceremony and wedding was one of pure joy and a celebration of family. Jamal’s uncle preformed the ceremony and both of Jessica’s parents walked her down the aisle. The laughter that came from the second floor of the Stone House where the bridal party was getting ready was infectious.
The toasts were amazing, including a rap from her sister, the maid of honor. The group hit the dance floor and never stopped until the DJ did – and still they asked for more.
This couple was one of the sweetest I’ve worked with, their genuine love and caring for each other was so obvious during the planning, and I wish them nothing but joy.
